GOSPEL MUSIC NEWS
The Melody Boys Quartet has made their official retirement announcement. They will tour throughout this year, and their last concert will be New Year’s Eve 2012. They are one of the longtime Southern Gospel quartets, going back to the 1930s.
G.S. Harris, a founding director and board member of the former Hallelujah Supper Club in Newton, died in December 2011. The club was the “place to be” for many years, featuring good food and fellowship. A number of today’s Southern Gospel artists sang there as they began their careers.
